Thoughts on Nigeria

With current trends in world events it isn’t unusual to hear the black race refereed to as backwards when social evolution is mentioned. I am black myself and I have heard this of on a few occasions from fellow Africans. While I will agree that the current state of Africa points to this conclusion as we remain dominant in natural resources and lacking in everything else, I will like to argue against this idea on the grounds of socialization.

At the time of birth humans for the most part are like blank canvasses ready for social and cultural impression. It is no coincident that people end up as members of the dominant religion where they grow up, or where their parents belong to. Our sense of morality if not founded on reason (which often isn’t) is mostly derived from the society we live in. The English today may look down…
