ANYTHING TO STAY STRONG

There is no love sincerer than the love of food – George Bernard Shaw

Better to be strong than pretty and useless. ~ Lilith Saintcrow

Better to be strong than pretty and useless.
~ Lilith Saintcrow

It’s Christmas
Plenty to eat and drink in its excess
She let’s depression be the reason she swallows ’em multiple calories
It gave her the relief for the moment
But sure messed with her style and looks

She’s wrapped in layers of extra fat
She chooses to stay protected from expectations of others
and herself
Source of comfort being the food and drinks she consumed
Now she’s familiar with jests and taunts

Gluttony would never be a sin
But rather that protective device used by her who knew only the pain of life
…and chooses to bask in the comfort of “too much to eat” “too much to drink”

Each of us has something that “heals”
Something we use to heal through the hard times
For a few it’s the booze and food
For others; it’s staying “busy”
But for a special few, it’s just; Acceptance, a silent prayer, faith

Do not judge the next man’s tool to inner peace
For as we gradually grow in steps of understanding
Each of us a part of a process we must go through
But may your style be one that gives the next man strength
Real strength for a new season

Merry Christmas Fam 😉
